$537 – The Cost of delaying a Solar PV to January 2020 in Victoria
The Solar Homes package is about giving Victorian households greater control over their household bills.
Eligible households can claim a rebate up to $2,225 on the cost of a solar panel (PV) system or a $1,000 rebate for the replacement of hot water systems with solar hot water.
From July 2019, Victorians will be able to install an eligible 4kW solar panel system for half price and pay the rest of the cost back over four years with an Interest-Free Loan
You will notice the rate changes from $2,225 to $1,888 on the first of July. Additionally, the STC (Small Scale certificate – that underpins the other upfront discount) also changes on the 1st of January 2020. That change adds a further $200* to the purchase price of a new Solar PV System in 2020 (*53 certificates @$40 each).
So with only 3,333 Solar Homes Installation approvals available each month, please don’t delay.
